ABOUT ME
I was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1976. When I was three years old my Swedish mother, South African father and I left Sweden and immigrated to Belize, where I lived until moving to Florida. Although English is the primary language in Belize, a former British colony, I am also fluent in Spanish and I am semi-fluent in Swedish.
In 1997, I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Florida and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In 2001, I received my Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida, College of Law and also received a Certificate in International and Comparative Law. During my second year of law school I was elected as Treasurer of the International Law Society and in my third year was elected and proudly served as the President of the International Law Society.
After graduating from law school nine years ago, I moved to Central Florida and started my legal career. During my second year of practice I became lead attorney in a substantial number of federal court cases involving a Florida-wide litigation program for a Fortune 500 Company.
After that program waned I joined a prominent Winter Park law firm where I handled complex commercial litigation matters, including ad valorem tax challenges, special assets work involving commercial and residential foreclosures, creditors' and debtors' rights, eminent domain, and landlord and tenant disputes. I also served as an Assistant City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the City of Winter Park.
In 2006, I became a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. I have extensive mediation experience throughout the state of Florida. I have mediated cases involving complex commercial matters including contract disputes, construction defect disputes, personal injury disputes, probate disputes, employment disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, homeowner association disputes, eminent domain disputes, commercial, residential and bankruptcy foreclosures disputes, and other real property disputes.
